Inculcating intolerance in schools

The RSS run schools in India publish things such as the following in their textbooks:

“Delhi’s Qutb Minar is even today famous in his (Qutbuddin Aibak’s) name. This had not been built by him. He could not have been able to build it. It was actually built by emperor Samudragupta. Its real name was Vishnu Stambha…. This Sultan actually got some parts of it demolished and its name was changed.”

Little, innocent minds are thus being sentenced to a life rife with the feeling of resentment and intolerance. (for no fault of theirs!!!)

Lets be careful which school we put our kids in. Unless you want your children to grow up into hate mongers.

I don't know how any parent would willingly allow such a thing to happen to their kid. Its a different matter if you have no choice.

I for one am sure I want my children to grow up to be compassionate, loving and happy and not hateful and restless with a readiness to partake in crime. (as long as it is directed to those from a different religious community)

You can read the whole article that appears in The Hindu
here

PS: The RSS or the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is a Hindu fundamentalist organization in India that are accused of harbouring fascist ideologies.

PPS: Thanks to KPJ for the link.

Religion is just a tool for humanity to discover the goodness in them. Unfortunately people have lost the forest for the trees.
Gross misinterpretations are leading to a generation of people where hate is the mantra.
Fundamentalism and intolerance are sown in young impressionable minds
by people with selfish and vested interests.Such bad elements is there in all relegions.

endhoonnadey! They won't leave kids also alone now!

But then again if we succumb to the blame game all we end up doing is go around in circles.
An infinite vicious cycle.

Pooja - The Qutub Minar was actually built by an alien as an escape route (the top floor was to lead directly to its living room 3 mn light years away) - having lost its UFO in a communal riot ,it had had enough stupidity for one planet. But once atop the minar , it sighted the prospect - if distant - of one of those rioters/killers becoming a PM.It just threw itself off the tower in despair and fell to to an untimely , not to mention unspacely , death. - B
PS - On a happier note , it reincarnated back on its home planet where it now spends its time munching cosmic diodes and mint plasma.
