Shoe to the rescue

In a few hours I take a giant step right off my country into the emerald isle situated to the south of India. A few days ago I took another giant step. I got married.

It was beautiful. Marriage is beautiful, if you do it with the right person.

I have learnt that there is no fixed method to assess whether someone is right for you or not. Each of us is unique and we need to judge based on ourselves. It’s no use following romantic books and movies. But one rather simple way is the ‘happiness test’. Are you happy with each other?

I am happy and wish for every couple to be the same.

You will hear more from me next from Colombo where I shall be tentatively stationed for the next two years…

PS: i thought i woudn't have any time left to do this before we leave for the airport, but then his shoe strap broke and he had to step out to go get it repaired. Shoe to the rescue :)

congratulations..marriage, like u said can be beautiful if u have the right partner.....its a very miniscule chance to be in a relationship where you find someone who will "continue" to love u in the same way that u do. i wish that happiness stays by your side forever...as for ur stay in colombo....its a nice place...especially the coastal battery....and the taj hotel. all the best to both of u!

I was at O&M bangalore in 2004, for a brief period.

And thanks theyeofhorus. We did stay at the Taj Samudra for the first few days! It sure was mesmerising!

The joke in stereotypes

I often come across people who form opinions about people based on stereotypes. I have always campaigned against it. However, many continue to adamantly stick to their opinions. Women can not be interested in sports Blonds are dumb Sardar ji’s are fools Muslims have a natural inclination to become terrorists People from Bihar lack culture Gujrati’s are misers There are many more that one can think of. While all these stereotypes are based on certain facts and perhaps figures. It still doesn’t make sense to judge an individual based on the colour of his/her hair or the country of his/her origin. One must judge a person for what he/she is. I know most of the readers of this post are in agreement with me but I’m truly disheartened by the number of people who allow themselves to get swayed by such stereotypes. Narendra Modi for PM? - No Thanks!

Some people think Narendra Modi should be India's PM. Here’s why I disagree. Whatever arguments, one may have in favour of him, we need to face it - certain truths about him can not be brushed under the carpet. Let us clearly understand that those who support Modi are in fact in favour of everything he stands for. 1) Modi belongs to the tribe that subscribes to the belief system that works with a vision, towards a "hindu rashtra".
